Re-roofing done the right way—down to the decking
Anyone can nail shingles over an old roof. TRC does it right: we tear off every layer, inspect the decking, replace what’s rotted, and rebuild the complete system.
What sets a TRC re-roof apart
Many roofs in North Texas have two or even three layers of old felt and shingles hiding the decking underneath. Roofing over that mess is faster and cheaper for the contractor—and a future leak for you.
TRC removes all layers of felt down to the bare wood so we can actually inspect your decking, replace anything that’s rotted, and build a roof that earns its warranty and lasts. It’s more work, and it’s exactly why our roofs hold up.
- Complete tear-off of every felt layer
- Full decking inspection & rotted-deck replacement
- Synthetic underlayment & ice-and-water shield
- Drip edge, starter, ridge cap & ventilation
- Magnetic nail sweep & photo-documented cleanup

Down to the deck—every time
Here’s exactly how we install a roof, and what sets TRC apart from roofers who cut corners you can’t see.
We remove every layer of felt
We inspect the decking
We replace rotted or damaged decking
We build the full system
We clean up like we were never there
What actually makes up your roof
A roof is a system—not just shingles. Every layer has a job, and skipping any of them shortens the life of the whole roof.
Decking
The wood foundation of your roof—must be sound and dry before anything goes on top.
Underlayment / Felt
A synthetic moisture barrier over the deck. We remove old felt so nothing hides the wood.
Ice & Water Shield
Self-adhering membrane in valleys, eaves, and around penetrations where leaks start.
Drip Edge & Starter
Metal drip edge and starter strip lock down the perimeter against wind and water.
Shingles / Panels
Your chosen shingle, tile, or metal system—installed to earn the manufacturer warranty.
Ventilation
Balanced intake and exhaust that protects the deck and extends the life of the whole roof.
Why we always replace rotted decking
Rotted or delaminated decking won’t hold a nail. Roofing over it traps moisture, voids manufacturer warranties, and leads to leaks, sagging, and shingle blow-off. Replacing it is what separates a roof that lasts from one that fails early—and it’s standard practice at TRC.
